Schwinn Mark II Bike Trailer Review

What are the Features of the Schwinn Mark II Bike Trailer?

The Schwinn Mark II is a convenient  bike trailer that can easily convert to a stroller. Its durable yet light. it is made from an aluminum frame and can fit two children, up to 100 lbs.  The Schwinn Mark II Bike Trailer is equipped with 20” alloy wheels, a dual harness system and a zippered weather protection shield.

The Schwinn Mark II comes with a universal coupler that can fit with nearly every bike model. This Schwinn Bike Trailer is designed for an easy, tool-free conversion. There is a front wheel that flips out along with handlebars that make it a cinch to go from using the Schwinn Mark II as a bike trailer to a stroller. The Schwinn Mark II easily compacts for storage. The tow arm folds snuggly under the Mark II and there is no need to detach the wheel. The outrigger frame stabilizes and protects the wheels and there is significant storage under the seat that can hold extra tubes, bike tools, diapers and more.

Customer Feedback for the Schwinn Mark II

The Mark II has sling seats, much like the Schwinn Trailblazer and other Bike Trailers in this price point. Sling seats are not as comfortable as the cushiony seats, like the Schwinn Joyrider, though it is standard unless you were willing to pay a bit more. The Schwinn Mark II Bike Trailer does not have shock absorbers, so the bike trailer will work best on flat terrain. Again, like the sling seats, this feature is more often found in higher priced bike trailers. With 20” alloy wheels, the bike trailer can handle the bumpy terrains, though it would be more comfortable for the kids with shock absorbers. Some customers have remarked that the harness could be more comfortable for smaller children. The Mark II is rated for 3 years of age plus so you may want to keep this in mind if you have children younger than this age.

The Final Say on the Schwinn Mark II

At this price point, the Mark II provides excellent value. It is notably durable and can withstand the test of time. It is lightweight and versatile, transitioning  easily from a bicycle trailer and a stroller. The Schwinn Mark II can fold easily and compactly, without detaching the wheel, unlike other models.  While it lacks some of the features of the higher end bike trailers, such as shock absorbers and molded seats, it is a dependable, widely owned product from a well know manufacturer.
